Armenians of Toronto prevent RA Ambassador from entering Armenian Center

On October 15, Anahit Harutyunyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia, who was invited to speak at the charity dinner of the Toronto Branch of the Hayastan All Armenian Fund, was not allowed to enter the Toronto Armenian Center as the young people blocked the main entrance. They brought with them banners with images of the displaced and starved Artsakh Armenians, as well as those who were denied entry to Armenia.

“We have nothing against Ms. Harutyunyan, but she represents today’s government that surrendered Artsakh, caused the deaths of more than 5,000 young people, was complicit in the displacement of 120,000 Artsakh Armenians, and banned the entry of our young Diaspora Armenian friends to Armenia. Therefore, treacherous authorities and their officials are not allowed to enter this center,” the young people said.

They explained that they do not consider it appropriate for the Ambassador to be present at the Armenian center, as the government that she represents poses a great threat to the Armenian nation.
