Armenia’s current government is not fighting against individual clergy members, but against entire church and religion — survey

The American editorial office of Alpha News conducted a survey to understand the views of the local Armenian community regarding the recent policies adopted by Armenia’s current government.

According to one respondent, the enemies of the Armenian people are now three: Turks, Azerbaijanis, and the current government of Armenia.

“The group that has seized power in Armenia serves Turkish and Azerbaijani interests. From day one, they have weakened our national institutions, and now they have started attacking the church. They are trying to eliminate everything connected to sovereignty so that the desires of the Turks and Azerbaijanis can be fulfilled easily. I believe this traitor even has Turkish roots, and our enemies are now three—Turks, Azerbaijanis, and the current Armenian government,” said one Armenian living in the United States.

Another Armenian emphasized, “The current government of Armenia has one goal—to destroy the Armenian nation. Now they’ve reached the church, which for centuries has been the most important institution preserving Armenian identity. Wherever Armenians have gone, the first thing they’ve built is a church. Today’s fight is not against individual clergy members, it’s against the entire church and religion.”
