Armine Anda’s ‘The Song of Flying Leaves’ selected again for competition at international film festivals

The Song of Flying Leaves, a short animation by Armine Anda, confirmed 45 selections in 9 months in 2023, receiving 9 awards, the National Cinema Center of Armenia reports.

The film continues its success in 2024.
In January 2024, it is included in the Horizons Competition of PIAFF-Paris International Animation Film Festival and the official competition of IndieJúnior Porto, Portugal.

The Song of Flying Leaves is the first Armenia-Iran animation, a co-production of Hoshkee Film (Armenia) and Hoorakhsh Studios (Iran). The script is written by famous filmmaker Roman Balayan.

The film tells about an encounter between Suna, a twelve-year-old girl who uses leaves as a blanket, and an old man who possesses secret knowledge. A reflection on friendship between a father and a daughter, a teacher and a student, an adult and a child, and the path that can turn the impossible into possible.
