Singer, songwriter and music producer Artem Valter told Alpha News that over time we will lose Artsakh culture․

“The further we go, the more we will lose. The point is not about writing literature in the Artsakh dialect when being in Artsakh, and not about the number of songs created. Unfortunately, over time, both the dialect and the culture will disappear unless not only Artsakh people but all Armenians unite and try to preserve them,” the singer said.

Artem Valter emphasized that this is a pan-Armenian problem․

“If such a task is set to preserve culture, it will be possible to do it. For example, now there is no need to preserve the culture of Gyumri. But if the problem arises of preserving the subcultural element of Gyumri, we all must work in this direction. This is a universal, pan-Armenian problem. If we don’t do this, the culture will certainly disappear,” Valter said.

According to Artem Valter, the public is intolerant of people who speak dialects․

“The issue of preserving the culture of Artsakh needs coordination, but there is no guarantee that the issue will be resolved in this way. You should be a little more tolerant of dialect speakers. I tell my friends to write more songs in the Artsakh dialect because it sounds beautiful, although we have always written songs in our dialect,” the singer said.
