Artist Andrey Shugarov’s exhibition opens in Los Angeles
On May 31, an exhibition featuring the work of artist Andrey Shugarov will open at the Saryan Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Ahead of the exhibition, Alpha News spoke with the artist.
Andrey Shugarov shared that the exhibition will also showcase sculptures by Armenak Vardanyan.
“I’m very excited that my works will be exhibited at the Saryan Cultural Center on May 31, but it won’t be just my art. Sculptor Armenak Vardanyan will also present his sculptures. I will display my paintings, around 40 works. I’m a very active person, I like to be everywhere. In my paintings, you will find animals, nature, and people. I prefer more aggressive painting and try to show it on canvas, and I succeed, especially when I depict horses. Alongside this, abstract art also plays a big role in my life, and pieces in this style will be part of the exhibition as well,” Shugarov said.
Andrey Shugarov is a lecturer at the State Academy of Arts of Armenia. He also spoke about the interests of the new generation in this field.
“We have a wonderful generation, there are many young people who love art, but they are completely overlooked by the state. No matter how interested they are, they need encouragement. With our teaching staff, we are working in that direction. Thanks to that, students are developing skills in this field,” the artist concluded.
