Artsakh HRD: At the moment, it is unknown how many young Armenians were arrested by Azerbaijanis

At the moment, it is unknown how many young Armenians were arrested by Azerbaijanis at the checkpoint located in the Lachin corridor, Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, told tert.am.

“We are currently engaged in fact-finding work, when we finish, we will issue a statement,” he said.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani mass media reported that three Armenian minors had been arrested at the checkpoint located in the Lachin corridor, allegedly because of desecrating the Azerbaijani flag. Now the Artsakh side has confirmed the fact of the kidnapping of one young man. To remind, Artsakh information headquarters reported that the Azerbaijani side had abducted Alen Sargsyan, 22, who was going to Armenia from Artsakh accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, at the illegal checkpoint in Lachin Corridor. There is still no reliable information about the reasons for the abduction.
