The Armenian authorities violate the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence by handing over Artsakh to Azerbaijan, Arega Hovsepyan, a resident of Artsakh, told Alpha News in front of the government building.
Together with a group of other women, she demands from the Armenian authorities not to surrender Artsakh to Azerbaijan.
“The government violates its pre-election program. People feel cheated. We have come to tell them that they do not have the mandate to do all that. Nikol Pashinyan did not bring Artsakh from his home to hand it over. Artsakh people are fighting alone today. It happened just because Armenia left Artsakh,” Arega Hovsepyan noted.
Arega is from Artsakh, she moved to Armenia before the war, but her family is now under blockade. She is against the operation of the Stepanakert-Akna road, proposed by Azerbaijan.
“Yes, people really have a problem with bread, flour is a few meters away, but people do not accept Azerbaijan’s ‘help’. That’s a red line. Don’t offer us the Akna road as an alternative. It is not the first time that Stepanakert is under blockade. Why does no one ask why they did not offer us the Akna option back in the 90s? Because at that time the issue was political, we did not take it to the humanitarian field.
And now, during the entire blockade, the issue was discussed by the authorities exclusively from the humanitarian point as a result of failures in the diplomatic field. This struggle is not a bread issue. People want security and status,” Arega Hovsepyan said.
