Before our very eyes, the Artsakh issue was resolved by force, political scientist Arthur Khachikian said in an interview with Alpha News.

“We witnessed ethnic cleansing, which is prohibited under international law. In Kosovo, this became the pretext for Western intervention, and Kosovo became an independent state. However, in our case, everyone turned a blind eye,” Khachikian said.

According to him, in our case a shameful situation occurred when the country’s leadership declared, “This is none of our business, it does not concern us.”

“All the organizations funded by Western grants remained silent. And let’s not forget that they were the ones who spent years convincing us that the Artsakh Armenians were a burden to us,” the political scientist added.

When asked whether we have the right to be dissatisfied when our own leadership acts in the interests of the enemy, Khachikian responded, “I cannot recall another instance in human history where a country’s leadership claimed that protecting its own people was not its responsibility.”

Khachikian also noted that the Armenian authorities surrendered Artsakh at the demand of the West—Emmanuel Macron, Charles Michel, Europe, and Turkey.
