Artur Mirzoyan: We will fight until Georgian society is aware of the Artsakh situation
Unfortunately, Georgia takes a neutral position regarding the situation in Artsakh, Head of the Armenian Community of Georgia Artur Mirzoyan said in a live broadcast of Alpha News, commenting on Georgia’s position since the beginning of the Artsakh blockade.
“From the day the blockade began, we were among the first to organize a rally in front of the UN office and attracted attention. But in Georgia, neither the opposition nor the pro-government media have covered the genocidal actions taking place in Artsakh. They maintain silence. There were only 2 or 3 media outlets that sometimes covered the events in Artsakh,” he said.
Mirzoyan has also mentioned what their main goal is and in which case they will stop holding rallies.
“Our main goal is for Georgian society to be informed about all this, because Azerbaijan has been actively distracting Georgian society from the main problem of Artsakh for decades. We constantly send letters to media outlets but, unfortunately, we do not receive any response from them. But we continue to fight and we do not accept this situation, which they force us to accept. We will continue the struggle and talk about the Artsakh blockade until we succeed,” Mirzoyan concluded.
