Authorities’ attacks on Church are attacks on faith of Armenian people – survey

Residents of Lori commented on the Armenian authorities’ actions against the Church during a community survey.

“Shame on them! The actions taken against the Church are disgraceful. Azerbaijan attacks our churches whenever it gets the chance. Our own authorities are doing the same,” said one respondent.

Another respondent emphasized that these attacks are not directed at the Catholicos personally, but at the faith of the Armenian people: “If Pashinyan wanted to remove the Catholicos, he would have called him directly and said, ‘You’re dismissed,’ instead of doing it publicly.”

“Armenians are a people devoted to God, and everyone should respect the Church,” said another participant, adding that no one can forbid him from defending the Church and God.
