On June 6, Tashir Capital proposed to reduce the electricity tariff using profits obtained from energy balance deviations, and on June 13 a response was received stating that this proposal would be reviewed by the end of the year, David Ghazinyan, former acting director of CJSC Electric Networks of Armenia, said during a press conference.

“After our statement on the air of the First Armenian TV channel, if I’m not mistaken, one of the heads of departments of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) said that they had submitted an application to reduce the tariff, while at the same time proposing additional investments of 12 billion as a result of the tariff increase. After that, I published a recording of the PSRC meeting, where we proposed to increase the investment program by 12 billion,” Ghazinyan said.

According to him, the authorities simply decided to carry out this process at the end of this year or the beginning of next year, without mentioning either Tashir Capital or Samvel Karapetyan, and to take credit for the company’s work.

The purpose of all this, according to Ghazinyan, is to discredit them. “They want to turn the image of Samvel Karapetyan—a philanthropist, a good person, a true Armenian—into its opposite,” he added.
