Azerbaijan says ready for direct negotiations with Armenia

Azerbaijan is ready for direct bilateral negotiations with Armenia to sign a peace deal as soon as possible, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“This stagnation in peace negotiations does not contribute to the stability and prosperity of the region. We believe that both countries should jointly decide the future of their relations,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has also offered Armenia to hold a meeting at the state border to discuss the peace process.

“The two countries bear responsibility for the continuation of the peace process, including the selection of a mutually suitable venue or a decision to meet at the state border. We call on the Armenian side not to allow new unnecessary delays and hope that they will respond positively to this call to start negotiations soon,” it added.
