Speaking with Alpha News, ANCA Western Region Board Member Astine Suleimanyan commented on the Armenian prisoners held in Baku and other critical issues related to Armenia and the Armenian people.
“Two weeks ago, we decided that we would go to Washington as a group. We lobby like this every year. We are speaking with members of Congress and senators. This year is particularly significant, as it marks the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide,” she said.
She noted that it is necessary to put pressure on official Baku to release the Armenian prisoners.
“There are 23 prisoners in Baku. Marco Rubio and Kennedy have promised us that they will fight with us and try to put pressure on Azerbaijan to release the Armenian prisoners. But there is no action yet, there are only talks. We are losing time every day. Azerbaijan says there should be peace, but there is no such peace,” Astine Suleimanyan noted.
