Azerbaijan threatens Argentina for condemning blockade imposed by Azerbaijan

On September 11, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned Argentine Ambassador Mariángeles Bellusci to hand a protest note against the position of President Alberto Fernández. The latter, during his speech at the G20 plenary session in New Delhi on September 9, condemned the Azerbaijan’s blockade in the Lachin corridor. During the meeting, a protest note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was presented to the Ambassador of Argentina “for the biased statements of the President of Argentina.”

According to Azerbaijan, this statement contained terminology that contradicted their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
