Speaking with Colombian TV channel NTN24, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov called on France not to provoke Armenia into a new war by supplying it with weapons.

According to Mammadov, France’s policy towards Armenia may lead to the resumption of armed conflict.

“The actions of France, which supplies Armenia with defensive and offensive weapons, do not contribute to achieving peace in the South Caucasus,” he said.

Mammadov said that the Azerbaijani lands were affected “by the severe consequences of the Armenian occupation.”

“The local anti-terrorist operations carried out this September were aimed solely against illegal armed separatist formations,” he said, referring to Azerbaijan’s large-scale attack on September 19, which resulted in a mass exodus of the Armenian population of Artsakh from their homeland.
