Azerbaijani athletes show unsporting behavior during awarding ceremony of Armenian boxers

Azerbaijani boxers showed unsporting behavior at the awarding ceremony of Armenian athletes at the U16 European Championship in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hamest Afrikyan defeated Italy in the final, and the Azerbaijani athlete placed third. Boxer Simon Simonyan defeated Azerbaijan’s Nihat Gasimov and became the champion.

During the awarding ceremony, the Azerbaijani athlete, who took third place, defiantly left the podium at the sound of the Armenian national anthem, and Gasimov turned away.
