Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan arrested for two months

The court has announced its decision regarding the petition to arrest Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, the head of the Aragatsotn Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. He has been placed under arrest for a period of two months.

On the morning of October 15, the Investigative Committee and the National Security Service conducted searches at the homes of several priests of the Aragatsotn Diocese, as well as at the diocesan administration. Three individuals, including the head of the diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, were detained.
