Building sustainable peace in the South Caucasus is one of the EU’s key objectives, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, said at the opening of the EUMA headquarters in Armenia.

“During the meeting of the European Political Community held in Granada in early October, the EU once again condemned Azerbaijan’s military actions against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan. We remain committed to these efforts. The humanitarian needs of more than 100,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh who have found refuge in Armenia are the center of our attention,” Maragos said.

The ambassador added that Armenia and the EU are determined to strengthen their relations by working in the direction of fully utilizing the potential of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the EU Economic and Investment Plan.
