Caucasus Muslims leader does not want to meet with Catholicos of All Armenians

Allahshukur Pashazade, Chair of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, does not want to meet with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, he told journalists.

“I do not consider it appropriate to meet with Karekin. Karekin has taken on a political character in addition to his religious role. It is not right for a religious figure to get involved in politics to such an extent. Therefore, I currently have no plans to meet with him,” Pashazade said.

“The activities of the Yerevan Qaziyat were suspended due to the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Yerevan. We hope to return to our lands again. If the Qaziyat continues its activities here today, we believe that it will soon operate in those lands as well,” he added.

Pashazade is well-known for his absurd statements about Armenians.
