Chief of Armenian National Security Service and his deputies will now be able to apply force and carry weapons

The Armenian government approved amendments to the law on national security bodies.

From now on, the chief of the Armenian National Service and his deputies holding non-military positions will be allowed to apply physical force, as well as to carry, keep, and use special means and weapons. The decision was made at the session of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the legislative amendments, the employees of the National Security Bodies will also have the right to use vehicles belonging to private individuals and organizations when implementing relevant measures.
