Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has issued a statement regarding a meeting held the previous day with the relatives of missing soldiers.
“Some media outlets, lacking accurate information and understanding of the situation, have claimed that the meeting with citizens who had staged a protest near the Ministry of Defense’s administrative complex did not take place.
It should be noted that from the very beginning of the protest, the Ministry of Defense proposed a meeting with Deputy Minister Arman Sargsyan, who also serves as Deputy Chair of the Interagency Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, followed by a meeting with Major General Temur Shahnazaryan, Head of the Operational General Department and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
The protesters insisted on meeting with the Chief of the General Staff and several individuals who had been demobilized from the Armed Forces. Chief of the General Staff Eduard Asryan met with the citizens, and the meeting lasted several hours,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
