Christmas message of Catholicos Karekin II
January 06 2026, 15:51
Beloved children of our Holy Church, today the angelic proclamation of the Nativity resounds once more, and the light of the Bethlehem star shines upon our hearts. We glorify the Lord and Savior, who was born for our salvation—to lead humanity out of the darkness of sin and grant eternal life.
The Armenian Apostolic Church, founded through the preaching of the holy apostles Thaddeus and Bartholomew, has remained steadfast and unshaken through centuries of trials and persecutions. Even now, the Church is faithful to its calling—to be a source of faith, love, and hope for its people.
The Nativity of Christ is a call to transform life with goodness, to establish peace and unity. Let us preserve our faith, reject hatred and falsehood, and walk in the path of Christ, so that our nation may overcome suffering and behold the light.
With joyful tidings we greet the heads of our Holy Sees, the clergy, and all our people in Armenia and the Diaspora. Let us lift prayers for peace in the world and in our Homeland, for the steadfastness of the Armenians of Artsakh, for the defenders of the Homeland, and for the repose of the souls of fallen heroes.
May our lives remain under the protection of the Almighty, illumined by His light and good deeds, so that with gratitude we may glorify the incarnate Savior now and always, unto the ages of ages.
Christ is born and revealed! To you and to us great Good News․
