Civil Contract Party fails to gain majority of votes in Yerevan City Council elections

The pro-government Civil Contract party failed to gain more than 50% of the votes in the elections to the Yerevan City Council, which it needed to independently elect the mayor of the Armenian capital.

As reported by the Central Electoral Commission, according to the results of the vote count from all 475 polling stations, the Yerevan City Council will include:

Civil Contract Party, mayoral candidate Tigran Avinyan – 32.57%

National Progress Party, mayoral candidate Hayk Marutyan – 18.89%

Mother Armenia Bloc, mayoral candidate Andranik Tevanyan – 15.43%

Hanrapetutyun Party, mayoral candidate Artak Zeynalyan – 11.32%

Public Voice Party, mayoral candidate Artak Galstyan – 9.68%
