Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statement that pensions will not be increased continues to spark dissatisfaction among pensioners.

Survey participants recall that, as a member of parliament, Pashinyan had once insisted on raising pensions for the elderly to a level sufficient to cover their debts. Now they express confusion: what has changed? After all, these are the same “grandmothers and grandfathers.”

“No matter what anyone says, he keeps talking about the former leaders. Why do you care about them? You are the leader now—solve our problems,” emphasized one pensioner.

Addressing Pashinyan directly, she added, “If you can come and solve the heating problem in our homes without raising pensions, then come and do it!”
