“Confession: I am Sergo Parajanov” to be staged at Akhmeteli theater in Georgia

On September 15, 16 and 17, Akhmeteli theater in Tbilisi, Georgia, will present the play “Confession: I am Sergo Parajanov”, based on the latest script of the world-famous film director Sergei Parajanov.

The official page of the theater notes that the performance is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great master.

The director of the stage play is Irakli Gogia, the artists are Irena Ogandzhanova and Giorgi Kaulashvili.
The cast includes Giorgi Gasviani, Nino Tsimakuridze, Elene Bejiashvili, Giorgi Piranishvili, Boris Klonti, George Dvalishvili and Anano Guledani.

The greatest Armenian film director of the 20th century Sergey Parajanov was born on January 9, 1924. He lived and worked in Tbilisi.

In the last years of his life, Parajanov decided to make an autobiographical film called “Confession”. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could make his many ideas come true.

There are about 20 films dedicated to Parajanov, and since 1991 a museum has been operating in Yerevan, where his drawings, collages, miniatures and various utensils transported from the Tbilisi apartment are exhibited.
