Consequences of Trump-Pashinyan-Aliyev talks in US are real catastrophe for Iran – Khayal Muazzin
Speaking with Alpha News, Iranian journalist Khayal Muazzin commented on what to expect from the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev with US President Donald Trump. According to the expert, this is not just a negative scenario for Iran but a real geopolitical catastrophe.
“This catastrophe is not only limited to Tehran’s interests. This situation will be a serious challenge for Russia as well, as we are talking about a strategic corridor that directly affects the security of Russia’s southern borders. The ‘Zangezur issue’ cannot be resolved by Donald Trump’s involvement. Any attempt by NATO and the US to gain a foothold in Zangezur will be perceived in Iran as a violation of its red lines. Here too, Russia must take serious steps. Russia should show serious political solutions,” Muazzin said.
Referring to the signing of the peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku in the US, the expert said that everyone knows very well what is meant when the US talks about a “peace agreement.”
“Trump wants to get the Nobel Prize, and he is doing everything he can to present the US as a supporter of peace. But everyone in the world saw what happened when we negotiated with them—they were bloodily attacking Iran, killing civilians, high-ranking generals and scientists. Therefore, this agreement will not bring peace to the Caucasus. On the contrary, there will be more chaos, we should be ready for everything,” Muazzin concluded.
