The Court of Criminal Appeals, presided over by Vache Margaryan, rejected the complaint against the arrest of Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan and kept the clergyman in detention, lawyer Arsen Babayan reported.

“Of course, this was by no means unexpected.
It is noteworthy that this was not unexpected even under circumstances where, upon reviewing the prosecutor’s decision to initiate a criminal case, it was obvious that no crime had been committed.

Even under those circumstances, where the actions described in that decision had actually taken place in objective reality (which is excluded—they did not occur), it is still evident that no criminal act had been committed,” the lawyer said.
