Court rules Samvel Karapetyan’s detention was unlawful

Armenia’s Criminal Court of Appeal has ruled that Samvel Karapetyan’s detention was unlawful, his lawyer Lianna Gasparyan reports.

“The court confirmed that Samvel Karapetyan’s detention on June 18, 2025 was illegal, as a result of which he was unlawfully deprived of liberty for more than nine hours,” she said.

Earlier, Armenia’s Criminal Court of Appeal also found that the search conducted in Karapetyan’s apartment had violated legal procedures.
