Criminal case launched over deadly explosion at military unit

The Investigative Committee reported that the investigation was initiated on July 8 by the Third Garrison Investigative Unit of the General Military Investigative Department. The case is being pursued under Article 532, Part 1, and Article 550, Part 1, of the Armenian Criminal Code.

The Investigative Committee reported that eight injured servicemen were recognized as victims. Forensic medical examinations have been ordered, and the investigation is ongoing. No further details have been disclosed at this time.

Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that the lives of the injured servicemen are not in danger and that they remain under medical supervision.
