CSTO Chief of Staff: Last year, Yerevan was offered measures to ensure stability in the region

Last year, measures to ensure stability in the region were offered to Yerevan by the Collective Security Treaty Organization; they are still being discussed, Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, said at a briefing at the RT international press center.

“As for the Caucasus region, measures were proposed last year. The delegation of the Joint Staff and the secretariat reported on their work in Armenia to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense as well as Security Council secretaries. There was also a report to the heads of state. Based on all the conclusions and assessments, certain measures were proposed and draft documents were prepared. For a number of reasons, the discussion is still going on,” Sidorov said, answering a question about Armenia’s concerns regarding the responsibility of the CSTO and a dialogue on this topic.
