CSTO chief says Azerbaijan will ensure Nagorno-Karabakh’s security with its own forces

Azerbaijan has its own forces to ensure security in Nagorno-Karabakh, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told TASS.

“Nagorno-Karabakh is now the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which has its own forces to ensure security, and it is obvious that this matter is not resolved unilaterally. I believe that stability in the region largely depends on the prospects of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said, commenting on the withdrawal of Russian peacekeeping forces from Nagorno-Karabakh.
