CSTO responds to Pashinyan’s question on zone of responsibility

The CSTO considers its zone of responsibility in Armenia to be the country’s sovereign territory within the settled state borders, the organization told RBK Group.

“The wording about the zone of responsibility is quite complicated, and it is more intended to draw attention to the situation in the republic than to receive a substantive answer. In accordance with the 2010 agreement on the principles of interaction, which was signed in the CSTO, the zone of responsibility is the sovereign territory of the member states,” the organization said.

The CSTO noted that its zone of responsibility “ends where the state border passes, which is settled bilaterally between Armenia and its neighbors.”
