CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov will visit Yerevan after the organization’s meeting in Minsk and hand over the signed documents to the Armenian side, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik said, RIA Novosti reported.
“I had a phone conversation with my Armenian counterpart. We also discussed these issues and decision-making mechanisms. All the decisions that will be taken today are absolutely legitimate. In accordance with the rules and procedures of the organization, decisions are made with the consent of all member countries. We have agreed that following the meeting, the CSTO Secretary General will visit Yerevan,” Aleynik told reporters on the sidelines of the CSTO meeting in Minsk.
He added that all the decisions that will be considered by the heads of state today and have been finalized in Minsk within the framework of the conciliation commission will be handed over to the Armenian colleagues. “We will hope that the Armenian side will sign these documents,” the Belarusian Foreign Minister added.
The CSTO meeting kicked off on Thursday. As reported earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declined to attend the meeting.
