The Holy Mother of God Church in the only Armenian-populated village of Vakifli, which suffered from the earthquake in Turkey’s Hatay Province, has been renovated.

On August 17, on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church was reopened with the blessing of Patriarch Sahak II, the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople reports on Facebook.

Led by the Patriarch, the crosses on the dome and bell tower were consecrated with myrrh. The consecration ceremony was followed by an evening service.
