Deadly explosion rocks Yerevan State University

An explosion rocked the building of the Chemical Department of Yerevan State University on the morning of November 17.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the explosion occurred in the basement, where repairs are being carried out.

According to preliminary information, three people sustained injuries.

The cause of the blast is under investigation. Police and paramedics are working at the scene. The students were sent home.

The Ministry of Health a little earlier reported one death following the explosion. Those who were injured have been taken to the hospital. They are receiving the necessary medical care.
