Defrocking of Father Tade Tahmazyan on agenda of AAC disciplinary committee

The case concerning the possible defrocking of Father Tade Tahmazyan, spiritual pastor of the Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) Church in the town of Talin, Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, has been placed on the agenda of the Committee for Ecclesial Awards and Disciplinary Issues of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Father Yesayi Artenyan, Director of the Information Service of the Mother See, told Sputnik Armenia.

The day before, Father Tade participated in an event held at Hovhanavank by Stepan Asatryan, a priest who had been defrocked. In addition, in recent weeks, the priest had made a number of posts on his social media page against the hierarchs of the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.

Following the events at Hovhanavank, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that next Sunday he would attend the liturgy at the Surb Astvatsatsin
