On October 24, the official opening of Tashir Arena will take place, and the following day, the first performance—the “ETERNIA” show—will be presented to the public.
For circus enthusiasts, this is a highly anticipated event, as there have been no circus performances in Yerevan for the past 14 years.
Alpha News spoke with Hrachya Arshakyan, General Director of Tashir Arena, about the construction of the new circus building, its reopening after 14 years, its technical advantages, and ticket pricing policies.
Hrachya Arshakyan emphasized that Tashir Arena is a multifunctional venue in Armenia, designed not only for circus performances but also for theater, sports, and business-related events.
“We have paid special attention to technological and safety systems. We have a unique safety system—the first and only of its kind in Armenia. The building is also equipped with the latest technologies. For lighting and sound, we use quite innovative and advanced technologies. Previously, the building had five floors covering 6,500 square meters; now it has nine floors and spans 21,000 square meters. The auditorium can accommodate up to 2,000 seats,” Arshakyan said.
Tickets for the first show, “ETERNIA,” can be purchased on the website tashirarena.am. Soon, tickets will also be available at the Tashir Arena building. Ticket prices range from 5,000 to 40,000 AMD.
“When determining the pricing policy, we aimed for flexibility. With a 5,000 AMD ticket, we allow any Armenian family to attend the show. We also have premium tickets up to 40,000 AMD, but they make up only 3% of all seats. Naturally, we offer discounts. For example, children aged 5 to 12 can receive a 30% discount. For children under 5 who do not occupy a seat, entry will be free. We also have programs for those who participated in the Artsakh battles—they receive up to a 30% discount. Discounts are also available for students and pensioners. If more than 10 tickets are purchased, a discount applies, and for more than 20 tickets, the discount increases,” Arshakyan noted.
