Discussion on preservation of Christian monuments of Artsakh held in Spain

The preservation of Christian monuments in Artsakh was discussed at an event organized in Spain by the Conference of European Churches (CEC), the press office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reports.

Representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church are also participating in the large forum entitled “Security, financial, political, and legal protection of places of worship and cultural heritage”. Among them is the head of the department of inter-church relations, Garegin Hambardzumyan, who presented to the participants a report detailing the facts of Azerbaijan’s purposeful destruction of the Armenian spiritual and historical heritage in Artsakh.

He also raised the issue of the need to protect the remaining holy sites as well as the restoration of the legal rights of the forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians.
