Dmitry Peskov: Armenia-US exercises do not contribute to the stabilization of the situation in the region

The Armenia-US military exercises do not contribute to the stabilization of the situation in the region and the strengthening of mutual trust, press secretary for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said.

“In this situation, of course, holding such exercises does not contribute to the stabilization of the situation. It does not contribute to strengthening, let’s say, the atmosphere mutual trust in the region either. Russia continues to fulfill its functions as a guarantor of security, Russia continues meticulous and consistent work with both Yerevan and Baku,” Peskov said.

Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that the joint Armenia-US military exercise “Eagle Partner 2023” will be held on the territory of the country from September 11 to 20.
