Dmitry Peskov: Russia did not discuss the issue of peacekeepers in Karabakh with Armenia

The issue of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh was not discussed with Yerevan, de facto and de jure this is the territory of Azerbaijan, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters during a briefing.
“Now they [peacekeepers] really are de facto and de jure on the territory of Azerbaijan, this is recognized by Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan,” Peskov said.
“Duration of their further stay and all related issues will, of course, be discussed with the Azerbaijani side,” he added.
At the same time, Peskov noted that, “the Russian Federation will definitely continue contacts with Armenian friends.”
The Kremlin spokesperson stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pashinyan had not discussed the possibility of relocating the Russian peacekeeping forces during their phone conversation.
