Delivering his closing statement during the court hearing, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan noted that he would neither regret nor apologize for his words.
Ajapahyan stated that he stood by everything he had said. Addressing the prosecution, he said that he would not forgive them, as they knew exactly what they were doing and were “accumulating lightning over their heads.”
“I won’t say ‘Don’t do it, Lord,’ I’ll say ‘Lord, judge with justice.’ If I am truly guilty, strike me with lightning. But if I am innocent…” said Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan.
At the same time, the Archbishop emphasized that he harbored no malice toward them, only compassion.
“Despite having enormous leverage and opportunities, you are busy with nothing,” he added.
Following Ajapahyan’s closing remarks, Judge Armine Meliksetyan announced that the verdict would be delivered tomorrow at 5:30 PM.
