Due to Pashinyan’s unserious behavior, others will make decisions for Armenia — Grigor Balasanyan

I hope that Overchuk will succeed in returning Armenian-Russian relations to a normal course, international affairs expert Grigor Balasanyan told Alpha News, referring to the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
“I hope that Overchuk will succeed in returning Armenian-Russian relations to the normal course and save them from the final failure. In any case, delimitation and demarcation, as well as the so-called Russian version of the ‘Zangezur corridor’, that is, the issue of unblocking the routes, were discussed during the meeting with Overchuk,” the expert said.
According to Balasanyan, the presence of Russian border guards on the border is not only Armenia’s decision.
“The presence of Russian border guards on the Armenian-Turkish border is not only Armenia’s decision, because the Armenian-Turkish border is an external border. The decision was made on the basis of interstate agreements and decisions of the CIS, as in Tajikistan, where the presence of Russian border guards on the border of Afghanistan was decided. Therefore, Armenia cannot say: no, we don’t want it, leave. The Prime Minister’s speech in the National Assembly was a hint, but it is not known where the Russian border guards will stand,” Grigor Balasanyan said.
According to the expert, it is not serious for Pashinyan to talk about paragraph 9 of the November 9 agreement in the National Assembly.
“This discussion was not serious, but intentionally or not, the Prime Minister did not deny that Armenia will not fulfill the 9th point of the November 9 agreement,” Grigor Balasanyan concluded.
