EAEU countries sign free trade agreement with Iran

The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have signed a full-fledged free trade agreement with Iran, which should substitute the interim agreement, RIA Novosti reports.
The signing took place within the framework of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, with Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chair of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Alexey Overchuk, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister, and Abbas Aliabadi, Iran’s Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister, leaving their signatures. The agreement was also signed by representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The interim agreement on the free trade zone between the EAEU and Iran was signed on May 17, 2018 and has been in force since October 27, 2019.
