Edgar Unanyan dismissed from position as Commander of NSS Border Troops

The President of Armenia has signed a decree relieving Edgar Unanyan of his position as Commander of the Border Troops of the National Security Service (NSS). The announcement was published on the official website of the President.
The decision was made based on a proposal from the Prime Minister and in accordance with Article 133 of the Constitution of Armenia, as well as the Law on Border Troops.
Unanyan had held the post since July 2024. The reasons for his dismissal have not been specified in official sources.
