Entire state system is mobilized against Church – Norayr Poghosyan

The Armenian Apostolic Church is targeted by the government. Norayr Poghosyan, a PhD in philology and an employee of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, commented on the situation in an interview with Alpha News.

According to him, this is a targeted campaign against the Church, although there are no open statements about persecution of the Catholicos’s entourage. Poghosyan is confident that the pressure will persist.

He also expressed concern about the actions of some priests within the Church: “They’ve crossed all the red lines. What does it mean to testify against one’s own spiritual leaders?”

When asked whether the security services are involved in actions against the Church, Pogosyan stated: “The entire state system is mobilized.”
