Episcopal Assembly to be held – Catholicos of All Armenians

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, responding to a journalist’s question about whether the Episcopal Assembly, scheduled for February 16–19 in the Austrian city of St. Pölten, will indeed take place, gave a firm answer.

“Yes!” said the Supreme Patriarch.

It should be noted that the Armenian authorities are actively obstructing the holding of the Episcopal Assembly. Several high-ranking clergymen are currently in detention, and six bishops have been prohibited from leaving the country.
