Etchmiadzin Cathedral rededication to take place in fall

The ceremonies of the blessing of the Holy Chrism and the rededication of the Cathedral are planned in the Mother See of the Holy Etchmiadzin on September 28 and 29.

A 130-year-old cauldron for Chrism is kept in the St. Vardan and St. John the Baptist Chapel-baptistery. It was made at the end of the 19th century in one of the famous Moscow workshops.

The cauldron was donated to the Mother See by Gaspar Haroutiunian-Karapetoghlian, a merchant from New Nakhichevan. For the first time, the cauldron was used for the blessing of the Holy Chrism by Mkrtich I Khrimian.
