EU and NATO are on verge of collapse – Vladimir Sergienko
Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist Vladimir Sergienko commented on the summit of European leaders held in Paris ahead of Russia-US talks in Riyadh.
“The European Union is now on the verge of collapse, NATO is on the verge of collapse. Europe failed to form an anti-American, ‘anti-Trump’ bloc, it failed to form a bloc to send armed forces to Ukraine. I believe we have two very intensive weeks of behind-the-scenes talks ahead. Based on these talks, we will find out whether Europe will reach an agreement with America on the war or will become autonomous. And in that case, hostile Europe may well begin to launch provocative processes that will attack Russia,” the political scientist said.
According to the expert, the EU countries have not reached an agreement, and it is quite possible that hostile Europe will begin provocations against Russia.
“They did not reach an agreement, so now we should expect a provocation. Europe needs provocations. A bunch of elites, especially transitional ones, such as German Chancellor Scholz, are still deciding quite a lot, and the narrative of ‘peace only through force’ is continuously present. So I am expecting an intensification of the real confrontation between Europe and Russia,” Sergienko said.
