The EU is not planning to conduct joint military exercises with Armenia, because the EU is not a military alliance, but a structure based on political and economic values, Peter Stano, the European Commission’s lead spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, said on Thursday.

“The European Union does not plan to train Armenian soldiers in the territory of the member states,” he said.

Stano added that there was no concrete decision yet regarding the possibility of providing unarmed support to the Armenian army.
