EU proposes to extend mandate of its monitoring mission on Armenia-Azerbaijan border

Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Union (EU) Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, proposed to extend the mandate of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia for another two years, the press office of the High Representative told the RFE/RL’s Armenian service.

The EU member states have reportedly welcomed this proposal and are currently discussing the necessary legal acts with the relevant bodies of the EU Council, whose decision on this extension is expected in the coming days.
